Yes, AlloyGators can be used on run-flat tires. You can see examples in our gallery. Fitting our product to run-flats does require heavier force and we always recommend visiting one of our trained fitters for a supply and fit service.
Yes, some wheel and tire combinations do suit our product better than others. Every set of AlloyGators includes a suitability gauge which should be used to determine suitability prior to attempting to fit the product. If you are unsure, please visit our network of trained fitters for advice.

AlloyGators can generally be re-fitted to the same wheels if you have new tires, providing they have not sustained heavy impact and all old glue residue is removed in order that the join can be effectively re-joined. We do not recommend re-fitting damaged profiles.
If fitted correctly, AlloyGators will not affect the inflation of the tire. We recommend checking your tire pressures one hour after fitting to ensure correct fitting and at regular intervals as recommended in your operating manual.
AlloyGators are not recommended for machine polished or diamond cut alloy wheels. Although fitting the product will provide superior protection against curb damage, due to existing imperfections in the lacquered wheel surface our product may increase the risk of moisture retention and accelerate wheel degradation. Providing there is no minute damage to the wheel surface, fitting AlloyGators should not cause damage on its own, however AlloyGator™ Ltd accepts no liability if the causes the aforementioned damage when fitted to machine polished or diamond cut alloy wheels. We do have many customers with machine polished wheels who use AlloyGators for wheel protection.
AlloyGator wheel protectors are suitable for 98% of alloy wheel and tire combinations, however, when fitted to alloy wheels on vehicles weighing over 2500kg, AlloyGator wheel protectors may move or come away from the wheel rim.
Vehicles weighing over 2500kg put increased pressure on the wheel and tire, and could cause the Alloygator profile to move over time. For this reason Alloygator Limited do not recommend fitting AlloyGator wheel protectors to vehicles weighing over 2500kg. This includes vehicles weighing less than 2500kg, but carrying luggage or passenger weight that causes the overall vehicle weight to exceed 2500kg.

AlloyGator Canada accepts no liability for profile movement or any damage caused by an AlloyGator profile fitted to a vehicle that weighs in excess of 2500kg. This includes vehicles weighing less than 2500kg, but carrying luggage or passenger weight that causes the overall vehicle weight to exceed 2500kg.
AlloyGators are made from a super tough nylon which is flexible and won’t damage your alloy wheels during fitting, but is tough enough to give superior protection.
Colour runs consistently throughout the wheel protectors, meaning that there is no damage to colour, even after impact with a curb. We recommend you regularly clean your wheels and AlloyGators with normal car shampoo or universal wheel cleaners suitable for delicate finishes like chrome. Avoid harsh cleaners and thick, brush-on tire shines used by some hand car-washes.

To remove an AlloyGator, simply jack up the car, fully deflate the tire, remove the plastic joining clip and carefully prise the profile up around the joint area. Firmly tap the face of the AlloyGator using a rubber mallet on the side which has the hole in it. This will then release the glue and open up the joint. Once the joint is open carefully prise the profile out of its seated position from the tire side of the wheel, starting with the end without the hole and using a tire lever or flat bladed screwdriver along the side and under the profile, prising in an upward motion. Once the end of the profile is free from the wheel and tire then carefully pull it out from its position across the tire wall in an outward motion in order to prevent any damage to the wheel from the stainless steel clips.
Our AlloyGators have been tested under normal driving conditions and within the legal speed limit.
